Take part in the great outdoors!

Here’s a small selection of the many events the National Trust
is putting on in the Peak District during 2011. Come and join in!

Feathery Fun
Thu 24 Feb,
1.30pm – 3.30pm
Longshaw (near Hathersage)
Activities at the new Granby Barn Interpretation Centre.
Build a bird box to take home for an extra £4. Child £3 B

Breakfast with the Birds
Sat 7 May, 6.30am – 10am
Ilam Park (near Ashbourne) Get up with the lark for this guided walk followed by a traditional breakfast. £8 B

Family Countryside Open Days
Sun 29 – Mon 30 May, 11am – 5pm
Dunscar Farm (Castleton) Outdoor activities, games, live music, and countryside displays
(including working dogs). A great day out for the whole family.
Adult £5, child £4, family

Brilliant Bogs & Boggarts
Sun 31 Jul, 10am – 3pm
Celebrate International Bog Day with family fun activities, finding out more about bogs and the
mischievous creatures that live in them. Drop in throughout the day. Meet at the Moorland
Discovery Centre. Child £3

Nature Detectives
Tue 2 Aug, 9 Aug, 16
Aug & 23 Aug, 1.30pm – 3.30pm
Ilam Park
Explore the wonders of summertime wildlife with our great nature trail and hands-on
activities. Meet at the National Trust Learning Centre. Child £3 B

Alport Amble, Upper Derwent Valley
An easy walk through the Alport Valley, taking in some of the stunning scenery at this
spectacular time of year. Meet in Bridge End car park on Derwent Lane. Bring a packed lunch. £2 B

Kitchen Garden Harvest Celebration
Sat 1 Oct, 11am – 3.30pm
Fun, hands-on activities as the Kitchen Garden volunteers celebrate the harvest season.
Meet at the Kitchen Garden behind the Visitor Centre. Dropin event. Activities £2

Winter Trees Walk
Wed 9 Nov, 10.30am – 2.30pm
Ilam Park
An informative walk to identify some of the trees, then a delicious roast dinner with
locally produced beef from one of our farms. Meet at the Learning Centre. Adult £20 B
